The short answer

We hold two wedding venues in the Athens region, and between them they show how much room there is inside the word "cost". Alsos Nimfon, a private estate on a terrace above Lake Marathonas, starts at €3,500 based on an initial guest count of 50. Agrilia Koromili, a seafront estate on the Viotia coast, starts at €4,500 — and that figure covers a three-night stay, accommodation for up to 30 guests, and breakfast.

Those two numbers sit close together and mean almost opposite things. One buys a day on an estate for a large guest list. The other buys a long weekend by the sea for a small one, with the beds included. This is the single most useful thing to understand about pricing a wedding near Athens: a starting price is a description of what is included, not a measure of how expensive a venue is. Read every quote as a list before you read it as a figure.

Two venues, two different ideas of an Athens wedding

Neither venue is in the city itself, and that is worth saying plainly. Couples choose the Athens region for the airport and the roads that run out of it, not usually for a city-centre wedding. Alsos Nimfon is at Marathonas, a short drive from Athens, on a six-acre estate looking over the lake. Agrilia Koromili is 85km from Athens along the Viotia coastline, built on a low rock above Koromili Beach with the Corinthian Gulf in front of it. Both are places your guests travel out to, and the length of that journey belongs in your budget as surely as the flowers do.

Guest count is the lever that moves everything

Nothing shifts a wedding budget more than the number of people at it, and our two Athens venues sit at opposite ends of that scale. Agrilia Koromili takes 10 to 30 guests, for the ceremony and the reception alike. Alsos Nimfon takes 50 to 650. Its reception hall has glass walls and a retractable roof, seats 500 indoors and opens out for 750, and the estate is recorded as holding up to 650 wedding guests across the pool area, the gardens and a stone-built bar used for welcome drinks.

The minimum matters as much as the maximum, and it is the part couples tend to miss. Alsos Nimfon's starting price is built on an initial guest count of 50, and 50 is also its recorded floor for a ceremony. A wedding of 30 people there is not a cheaper version of the same wedding — it is a venue running below the size it is priced for. Agrilia Koromili's floor is 10, which is why a small guest list reads very differently on the two quotes. Match the venue to the guest list you are honestly going to have, and the rest of the budget behaves.

Are you buying the venue, or the weekend?

Both venues are exclusive use, so on neither will you share the place with strangers. What differs is how long it is yours and who sleeps there. Agrilia Koromili's exclusive use runs to 30 guests, and all 30 sleep on site across ten suites, one of them a honeymoon suite; a minimum stay of three nights applies to wedding bookings, so the starting price is a weekend rather than a day. Alsos Nimfon is exclusively yours for the day and sleeps 2 — a private on-site suite with its own garden, kept for preparations and a private breakfast the morning after — with a hotel recommendation list for everyone else.

That distinction does more to your budget than the venue line suggests. When guests sleep where they celebrate, the transfers stop existing, the evening has no last coach to catch, and the weekend absorbs the welcome dinner and the morning after without another hire fee. When they do not, rooms and transport become a real part of what the wedding costs, even though most of it lands on your guests' cards rather than yours. Neither model is cheaper in the abstract. One of them concentrates the spending on your invoice; the other spreads it across the guest list.

Per-head catering, and what to ask for

Only one of the two venues publishes per-person figures with us. Agrilia Koromili caters in-house from its own tavern at €60 per person, with drinks at €36 per person. Alsos Nimfon caters in-house as well, with full event planning from the on-site team, and quotes to your guest numbers and the season rather than to a published rate.

We are not going to multiply those figures out for you, because the useful work is in asking rather than in arithmetic. Get the per-head rate early, in writing, and get it for the menu you would actually serve. It is the only line on a wedding budget that scales exactly with the guest list, which makes it the line that decides whether adding twenty people is a rounding error or a different wedding. Ask what the rate covers, whether drinks sit inside it or beside it, and whether staff and hire are in the same number.

Curfew. Our records do not state a closing time for either Athens venue, and it is not a detail to assume. A lakeside estate near a village and a seafront estate on its own rock can sit under very different rules, and the answer changes your band, your bar and your late transport. Put it in the first email.

The ceremony. Both estates have their own chapel: Agia Paraskevi stands among the olive groves above the water at Agrilia Koromili, and St Konstantinos and Eleni sits in the grove at Alsos Nimfon. Agrilia Koromili also offers vows on the cliffside above Koromili Beach or on the shore itself. Alsos Nimfon is listed with us as licensed for marriage; our record for Agrilia Koromili does not carry that listing, so if a legal ceremony on site is what you want rather than a blessing, raise it before anything else.

What the starting price contains. At Agrilia Koromili the €4,500 is explicitly three nights, accommodation for up to 30 and breakfast. At Alsos Nimfon the €3,500 is a starting point built on 50 guests, with tailored pricing offered against your numbers and your season. Two quotes are only comparable once you have made their contents match.

Season and day. Alsos Nimfon prices to the season by its own account, and both venues are quoting packages for 2027 and 2028. If your date has any give in it, ask what moving it is worth before you fix anything else.

Which one suits which wedding

If your list is small and you want the wedding to last more than an afternoon, Agrilia Koromili is the shape that fits: 30 people, ten suites, three nights, a private beach 50 metres from the rooms with sunbeds, a beachside bar and a pier, and a kitchen that feeds everyone at a published rate. The budget is contained because the guest list is, and because the accommodation is already inside the number.

If your list runs long — a large family wedding, or a cultural celebration where the count is not really negotiable — Alsos Nimfon is one of very few places near Athens built for it. Glass walls over the lake, a retractable roof, a pool area and gardens, a helipad, car parking and disabled access on a six-acre estate that is yours for the day. The price moves with the guest count, so the honest first step is to settle the number and then ask.
