How much does a wedding in Mykonos cost?

A Mykonos wedding does not have one price. It has a venue fee, a catering bill that moves with your guest list, and a stay you are committed to before the first guest lands. This guide uses only what our six Mykonos venues actually publish, and explains what each of those figures does and does not include.

The short answer

Five of our six Mykonos venues publish a starting figure, and they open a long way apart. Saint John Hotel Villas & Spa starts from €2,000. Villa Almi charges a wedding event fee of €2,000. Grecotel Mykonos Lolita starts from €4,000. Maregold Mykonos starts from €5,000. Anerousses Mykonian Traditional Houses starts from €9,000. The sixth, Aletro Cottage Houses, prices the wedding on request but states its two most useful numbers openly: a €1,500 event fee, and in-house catering at €90 per person.

Set those side by side and the spread looks strange, until you read what sits inside each one. They are not the same product with different price tags. They are six different things.

What the headline figure actually buys

The €9,000 at Anerousses is the most inclusive number on the island as we hold it: full private wedding use of the property, exclusive use of the pool, parking and every exterior space, 3 nights of accommodation for 28 guests, and concierge assistance. The €5,000 at Maregold works the same way on a smaller scale — full private wedding use plus two nights for 12 guests, daily breakfast and housekeeping.

The €2,000 at Villa Almi is a narrower promise: full private use of the villa for the celebrations, with the villa itself rented separately for a minimum of 2 nights. Aletro's €1,500 is narrower again, and admirably specific — access to the chapel and its surrounds for the ceremony, the pool area for dinner and the party, plus dinner tables and chairs. Read that list and you can see exactly which lines you still have to buy.

This is the single most useful habit when comparing Mykonos quotes: ignore the headline for a moment and write down what it covers. A larger number that includes three nights and a property to yourselves can be cheaper than a small one that covers a terrace and nothing else.

The six, side by side

Every figure above comes from the venue's own record. Where a venue does not state something, the table says so rather than guessing.

Catering: the number that scales

The venue fee is fixed. Catering is not — it multiplies by every name on the list, which is why it decides more budgets than the venue ever does. Only one of our six publishes a per-head figure: Aletro, at €90 per person, cooked in house and built on local ingredients. Treat that as the one honest anchor you have for Mykonos, and ask every other venue for their equivalent before you shortlist.

Five of the six have in-house catering: Aletro, Anerousses, Lolita, Saint John and Villa Almi. Maregold works instead from a list of recommended caterers, stylists, photographers and production partners, and takes outside planners readily — more freedom, and one more contract to negotiate. Anerousses sits in between: its own kitchen handles welcome dinners and can cook the wedding meal for up to 40 guests, so a wedding pushing toward its 100-guest ceiling brings a caterer in.

Beds are the second budget

All six of our Mykonos venues sleep guests on site, and the numbers are the most revealing column in the table. Saint John sleeps 250 across 136 rooms, 9 private suites and 3 private villas, each villa with its own pool. Aletro sleeps 70 of the 120 it can host. Lolita sleeps 40 across 20 Cycladic villas and suites. Anerousses sleeps 28 across eleven houses, apartments and studios. Maregold sleeps 12 in six sea-view suites. Villa Almi sleeps 10 across the main house and its three guesthouses.

Now compare each of those against what the venue seats. Villa Almi holds a ceremony and reception of 40 to 120 people but sleeps 10, so almost everyone books a room elsewhere on an island where rooms are not cheap. Anerousses holds 100 and sleeps 28. That difference is a real cost, and it lands on your guests rather than your invoice — which does not make it less real. If you want the whole party under one roof, the guest list has to come down to meet the beds.

Exclusive use, and the one that is not

Five of the six offer full exclusivity — Aletro, Anerousses, Maregold, Lolita and Villa Almi. You take the property, the pool and the exterior spaces, and there are no other guests wandering through your photographs. Saint John is the exception, and deliberately so: it is a working beach resort running along a 20,000 square metre stretch of coastline at Agios Ioannis, which is precisely how it can seat 600 people and sleep 250. You buy scale there, not solitude.

Exclusivity also has a floor. Villa Almi does not take a wedding below 40 guests, and Aletro's reception starts at 30. If you are a party of twelve, Maregold — which runs from 2 guests to 40 — is the address built for you.

Minimum stays are a cost line, not a detail

Four of the six carry a minimum stay. Anerousses asks for 3 nights; Aletro, Maregold and Villa Almi each ask for 2. Where those nights are already inside the starting price, as at Anerousses and Maregold, the commitment is doing you a favour. Where they are not, as at Villa Almi, the villa rental sits beside the €2,000 event fee and belongs in your arithmetic from the first day, not the last.

The upside is that a minimum stay turns a wedding into a few days together. Anerousses is built around exactly that idea, and its guests can fill the time with wine tasting, yacht charter, cooking classes, yoga or horse riding. Aletro runs wine tastings, cocktail-making workshops, cooking classes and olive oil tastings. Saint John has the Aphrodite Hotel Spa and Beauty Center on site.

Ceremonies, chapels and what is licensed

Three of the six are licensed for marriage — Aletro, Lolita and Villa Almi. That matters for cost as well as paperwork, because it decides whether the legal ceremony happens where the party happens or somewhere else, with transport attached.

Four have a chapel in play. Aletro has a traditional Mykonian chapel at the centre of the property, and its event fee covers the chapel and the ground around it. Lolita has a whitewashed private chapel and a secluded private beach, either of which can hold the ceremony. Saint John has Agia Fotini, its own white-washed chapel, inside the grounds. Anerousses uses its pool platforms as the main ceremony stage, with small traditional chapels near the property for a more traditional service. Villa Almi puts the ceremony poolside on the alfresco terraces, with Mykonos Town, the Aegean and Delos in view.

On the party itself: Aletro, Anerousses and Villa Almi permit fireworks, and Aletro and Villa Almi have a sound system on site. None of the six publishes a music curfew, so make it your first question — an outdoor Cycladic venue with neighbours will have one, and the hour it falls changes what your band or DJ is worth booking.

Where you marry on the island

Mykonos is small, and that keeps one line of the budget under control. Every one of our six sits within 10km of the airport: Saint John at 2km, Villa Almi at 6km, Aletro and Lolita at 8km, and Anerousses and Maregold at 10km. Lolita is around 15 minutes by car. Guests can land and be at the welcome drinks the same afternoon, and your transport quote reflects short runs rather than long ones.

Address still shapes the mood. Villa Almi sits high above the new port looking over Mykonos Town — the original family house was built in 1952 and reimagined in 2022. Lolita is on the quieter north coast above Agios Sostis bay, with a seawater infinity pool over the beach. Anerousses is at Houlakia, on a quieter side of the island. Maregold is in the hills of Elia, 1km from the beach, with second-floor suites looking across to Paros and Naxos. Aletro sits inland around its own pool and chapel.

If your guest list is large

Most Mykonos venues are small by design, and four of our six cap out at 100 or 120 guests. Above that the island narrows quickly. Saint John takes up to 600 for both ceremony and reception, with in-house catering and a licensed bar, and includes one night in the honeymoon suite when you book rooms for your guests. Lolita can be combined with the neighbouring Mykonos Blu for up to 160 guests with accommodation for 60. Those are the two routes we hold for a big Mykonos wedding, and both are worth pricing early, because the alternative — a small venue stretched past its comfortable size — costs more and works less well.

How to spend well here

Fix the guest list before the venue. Catering is the line that multiplies, and capacity is rarely the binding constraint — Villa Almi and Aletro will both seat 120, but the question is what feeding 120 does to the rest of your budget at €90 a head or whatever your venue quotes.

Count the beds, then count again. Rooms are the quiet cost of a Mykonos wedding. A venue that sleeps 70 of your 120 removes a genuine burden from most of your party.

Ask what the starting price contains, in writing. Between €2,000 for an event fee and €9,000 including 3 nights for 28 people, the word "from" is doing very different work.

Decide early whether you want the place to yourselves. Exclusive use is the difference between a wedding and a wedding held somewhere. Five of our six offer it; one gives you room for 600 people instead.
